Life so often feels unbalanced, like a shaky pose held briefly on one leg. Yet through inner and external harmony, a Dancer may align with the universe and attain a state of grace. In the perilous rush to achieve perfection, perfection itself is lost. The paradox of seeking harmony can be one of the greatest challenges a Dancer can face. Only by reaching past desire can we find the poise that transcends our imperfections. Life, to be sure, does not stand still. The prime illusion of earthly harmony is that you can find it once and then keep it forever. Like a balanced pose, harmony is a process, not a goal. Striving too hard to capture or maintain it leads to rigid thoughts and untenable actions. Ego is not grace, and a Dancer who strives to always “be perfect” soon forgets to connect with the vital imperfection we all share.
